The town Usti nad Labem lies in the magnificent valley of the Labe river in the Ceske Stredohori highland. It is ranked among the nine biggest towns in Czech Republic. It is located very close to the German border, about 100km northward of Prague. The Krusne hory mountains and the Cesko-Saske Svycarsko area- two very much-sought-for places in Bohemia lies northwards of Usti nad Labem. With its 100 000 citizens it become the regional administrative centre. The town is known for the industry character, the coal mining and the chemical industry.
